When you sleep with wet hair, your pillow becomes the breeding ground for bacteria. The reason being your pillow absorbs oil, dead skin cells, sweat from the scalp and all these along with water creates a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. As a result, you may develop hair infection.
Dandruff
The moist scalp can interfere with the function of sebaceous glands present on the scalp. They can either start to produce more oil or reduce oil production. It can disrupt the natural pH balance of the scalp. As a result, you either have to suffer from dandruff or excessive oily scalp.

Hair Damage
Our hair is at its weakest when wet. During this time, hair is prone to breakage. When sleeping with wet hair, chances are high that either we end up suffocating our hair in the towel or might sleep on them. This can result in hair breakage and increased hair loss.

This happens specially when you wrap your wet hair in a towel and go to sleep. After a bath or hair wash, our body temperature rises and the moisture that creates in the towel heats up as well. This can instantly trigger a headache.
