Our brain is made up of omega 3 fats. You can say, sixty percent of our brain consist of omega 3 fats. And omega 3 is present in ample amount in fish. For brain development in kids and matured people omega 3 fats are very important and crucial. According to science a brain develops up to 75 percent before birth and rest 25 percent within the age of one so it is really essential for mother and baby in the womb, to have lot of omega 3 fats. Even tests and experiments have proven mother who have more of fish while pregnant, baby has a more sharp brain. Proper intake of omega 3 fats has reduced the risk of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and depression as well as dyslexia and ADHD among children.
Omega 3 fats are available abundant in oily fish such as salmon, tuna, trout, halibut, mackerel, sardines, herring etc. But every fish has some extent of omega 3 fats, so try to incorporate these on daily basis.
Omega 3 fats again are of three different types- EPA, DHA and ALA. EPA and DHA are extremely available in fish and are rich form of omega 3 and ALA are available in flax seeds.
