5 Delicious Mango Recipes to Try This Summer
Summer is not the best time to enjoy a hot cup of tea. We normally prefer iced tea during this time, and flavored iced teas are just the best! Though lemon, tulsi or mint flavored iced teas are most popular, but if you are a mango lover, no one can stop you from flavoring your iced tea with mangoes! Here’s how to do it –
Take couple of medium sized mangoes, peel and chop them and puree them in a blender. Keep the mango puree in the refrigerator to chill. Next we will make tea. Heat 4 cups (approx) of water on a stove top. Once the water starts to boil, remove the pan and add 3 tsp f black tea. Cover the pan and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. Strain and refrigerate the tea. Once the tea is cooled, take it out from the fridge and put it in the blander, along with the mango puree and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Add sugar as per taste and blend everything nicely to make homemade mango-iced tea. Serve the tea in tall glasses and garnish with ice cubes and mint leaves.
Raw Mango Chaat
We Indians love chaat. The tangy and spicy taste feels like heaven in the mouth!! There are various types of charts, but since mangoes are in season, so, why not try raw mango chaat.
Take a cup of puffed rice and roast it in a pan on low flame till they become crisp. Once done, keep it aside. Now, take half a cup of finely chopped raw mangoes in a mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup of boiled potatoes (chopped). 1/4 cup each of finely chopped onions and chopped tomatoes and some finely chopped green chillies. Mix everything well. Next. add a handful of roasted peanuts and the roasted puffed rice. Add a pinch of red chilli powder and half tsp of chaat masala and black salt. Mix everything nicely and add some lemon juice and some chopped coriander leaves. Finally add in 3-4 tbsp of fine sev and mix everything quickly, but nicely. Serve immediately.

Kheer is a traditional Indian dessert and Mango kheer is like a fruity twist to this amazing and all time favorite sweet dish. Here’s how to make mango kheer –
In a pan, take two & half cup of milk, a cup of basmati rice and 3 tbsp of powdered sugar. Stir it, add a pinch of saffron and stir again. Once it comes to boil, add a cup of mango puree. Add some almonds, raisins and chopped mint leaves. Stir gently and cover it. Wait till the rice is fully cooked and kheer becomes thick and creamy. Remove from heat and transfer it in a bowl. Garnish with green cardamoms and almonds and serve cold (you need to refrigerate it ).

Raw Mango Salad
Take a cup of finely chopped raw mango in a mixing bowl. Add 1/4th cup of finely chopped onion. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp each of red chilli powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, 2 tsp sugar and salt as per taste. Mix everything nicely and let it rest for 10-12 minutes. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve with pulao or any other meal.
Raw Mango Rice
Take one medium sized raw mango, peel and cut it into small pieces. Next you have to cook rice just the way you normally do. Make sure the grains are separated from each other. Spread the rice on a plate and add a tsp of sesame seed oil on top of it. This will ensure the rice won’t stick together. Let it reach room temperature. In a pan, heat a tsp of mustard seeds and few curry leaves. When the mustard seeds starts popping, add the chopped mango, a generous pinch of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of chilli powder and salt as per taste. Saute for few minutes and then, add the cooked rice. Mix well and check for salt. Serve hot with raita.
